Light aircraft crashes into Beijing's tallest skyscraper

A light sport aircraft crashed into CITIC Tower, Beijing's tallest skyscraper, scattering debris across the area surrounding the building.
According to Report, citing Chinese media, people were evacuated from the skyscraper immediately after the incident.
It remains unclear whether there were any casualties or how many people were on board the aircraft at the time of the crash.
Videos circulating on social media appear to show the aircraft striking the upper floors of the 528-meter (1,732-foot) tower, with debris falling onto the surrounding sidewalk and nearby green space.
According to available information, the aircraft was a two-seat, single-engine light sport plane manufactured by the Chinese company Starair Aircraft Co. Flights involving light sport aircraft in Beijing require prior authorization from both the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC) and the Air Force of the People's Liberation Army of China.
