Death toll from Nepal floods rises to 180

The number of fatalities from devastating floods in Nepal has climbed to 180, according to the Disaster Management Agency, Report citing local media outlets.

Rescue teams are struggling to reach cut‑off regions, as roads and bridges have been washed away, villages inundated, and several hydropower plants damaged.

At least 558 people are reported missing following a landslide at the Nepal–China border checkpoint, Report informs, citing China Central Television (CCTV).

According to published data, 260 of the missing are foreign nationals.

Nepalese authorities have intensified search and rescue operations in the affected northern districts. The national army has already delivered essential food supplies, tents, aid items, and medicines to the disaster zone. The Prime Minister's office confirmed that army and private helicopters, along with ground search teams, have been deployed.

Earlier reports stated that 157 people had died in Nepal due to the landslide, while three fatalities were recorded in China.
