Kyrgyzstan hosted around 200 events during SCO presidency, Japarov says

Kyrgyzstan hosted around 200 events during its presidency of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO), contributing to the strengthening of security cooperation, Report's Bishkek correspondent informs, citing remarks by President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Japarov opening the meeting of the SCO Council of Heads of State.

"During its presidency, Kyrgyzstan hosted around 200 events. Over this period, security cooperation has been strengthened, economic and transport connectivity has been advanced, cultural and humanitarian ties have been deepened, and issues of digital development and artificial intelligence have been elevated to the organization's practical priorities," he stated.

According to him, the leaders of the member states will discuss pressing issues facing the organization at the summit and define key benchmarks for further cooperation.

Sadyr Japarov separately expressed gratitude to President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, noting that despite a festive and significant day for his country-Independence Day-he found the opportunity to arrive in Bishkek and attend the meeting.
