Japan to host meeting of G7 FMs

This year's first meeting of the G7 foreign ministers under Japan's presidency will open on April 16 in Karuizawa, Report informs.
The three-day event, according to Japanese Foreign Minister Yoshimasa Hayashi, is designed to demonstrate unity in the ranks of the G7 and help its representatives strengthen friendly and trusting relationships.
One of the main topics of the talks will be the situation around Ukraine. Hayashi, on the eve of the meeting, stressed that the G7 intends to demonstrate its "unshakable support for Ukraine", once again speaking out with sharp criticism of the actions of the Russian Federation.
The G7 also intends to emphasize the inadmissibility of the use and threats to use nuclear weapons, he said.
