Hungarian PM Magyar appoints three former TV presenters as government spokespeople

Hungarian Prime Minister Péter Magyar, who took office on May 9, has announced the appointment of three official government spokespersons.

According to Report, the announcement was made on his social media page.

The government's press office now includes former TV presenters and journalists Vanda Sondi, Éva Magyar, and Anita Köböl.

"The new government of Hungary intends to build partnership-based relations with the media," he said.

Magyar separately introduced each of the appointed spokespersons, highlighting their professional experience in journalism and television.

He emphasized that all three "learned to ask questions, listen, verify information, and responsibly inform the public."

With this move, Péter Magyar has abandoned the practice of recent years, when the cabinet had only one official spokesperson. In the previous government, this position was held by Zoltán Kovács.
