Governor of Hawaii introduces state of emergency

An emergency situation has been introduced in the US state of Hawaii due to heavy rains and floods, Report informs, citing the State Governor David Ige.
"I've just signed an emergency proclamation for the State of Hawai'i after heavy rains and flooding caused extensive damage to both public and private property across the islands," the governor tweeted.
The introduced measures allow local authorities to gain access to some additional funds and to use more resources in the aftermath of the disaster.
Earlier the local government announced an evacuation in Hawaii due to the threat of a dam break.
