Germany sees rise in deaths during late-June heatwave

Germany recorded a rise in mortality in the final week of June due to abnormal heat, Report informs, citing local media, which referred to data from the Federal Statistical Office.
From June 22 to 28, a total of 5,655 more people died than the average for the past three years, according to the statistics office.
In total, 23,655 deaths were registered in the final week of June this year.
Temperatures in Germany recently reached 41.8 C, particularly in Möckern-Drewitz in Saxony-Anhalt.
