French police fine 704 thousand for quarantine breaches

French police have revealed at least 704 thousand people violating an order to stay at home since March 17, Report says, citing Russian press.
According to the Interior Minister, Christophe Castaner, law enforcement officers conducted about 12 million checks. The minimum fine for violating self-isolation is 135 euros.
Earlier, President Emmanuel Macron announced the extension of lockdown till May 11.
France has so far recorded 137 thousand confirmed COVID-19 cases, while about 15 thousand have died in the country.
