European Commission chief: Sanctions against Russia will remain in place

EU's anti-Russian sanctions will remain in place, President of the European Commission (EC) Ursula von der Leyen told the European Parliament, adding that it is the time for determination, not appeasement.
According to her, the EC will continue to work on reducing gas prices and ensuring the energy security of the region.
She added that together with the EU countries, the commission will develop a set of measures, taking into account relations with exporters.
At the same time, von der Leyen classified Russia as an "unreliable supplier", and ranked Norway as a "reliable friend". She also accused Russian President Vladimir Putin of unleashing an energy and economic war against Europe.
In addition, the EU plans to invest three billion euros in the development of the hydrogen market, the EC chief added and urged to bring hydrogen economy to a mass market.
