Budanov: Ukraine talks could resume in late September

Talks mediated by US President Donald Trump's administration aimed at resolving the Russia-Ukraine conflict could resume in late September, Kyrylo Budanov, Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, said in an interview with The New York Times, according to Report, citing Interfax-Ukraine.

"Negotiations will eventually lead to something. You cannot fight forever," Budanov said.

According to him, the negotiation process is expected to resume after Russia's parliamentary elections. A new round of talks could begin with a visit to Kyiv by Trump's representatives, Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner.

At the same time, Budanov believes that conditions for a ceasefire are unlikely to be in place before spring 2027.

Axios reports, citing sources, that Witkoff and Kushner will visit Moscow and Kyiv on September 5–6 to discuss efforts to end the conflict.
