The armed forces of Niger and France killed 120 terrorists during a joint military operation in southwestern Niger, RIA Novosti reports.
According to the country's Defense Ministry, by February 20, the military in Niger and France managed to "neutralize 120 terrorists" during an operation in the Tillaberi region near the border with Mali and Burkina Faso. Armed forces seized equipment to create explosive devices and several vehicles. There were no losses among the military.
In the same area in October 2017, militants from a regional unit of the IS terrorist group ambushed a joint US-Niger patrol. At that time four American commandos and four African soldiers were killed as a result of that sabotage.
