Armenian political expert: Turkey's role in South Caucasus will increase

In the future, the role of Turkey and Iran in the South Caucasus will increase, and Russia will try to maintain at least its position, Armenian political scientist Argishti Kiviryan said in an interview with News.am, Report informs.

According to Kiviryan, after the collapse of the USSR, Russia's influence in the South Caucasus region decreased, and in parallel, especially after the Second Karabakh War, Turkey's role increased.

"The West is also trying to be active, but the game rules are changing in world politics. Fifteen years ago, there was only one superpower, but today, it gives its position to China. The game rules in different parts of the planet will depend on their relationship," the expert stressed.

He also added that the Armenian-Russian relations are currently at a very low level.
