Tajikistan MFA: Baku Water Week strengthens int'l co-op

The results achieved at the 2nd International Exhibition and Conference on Water Management - Baku Water Week will contribute to the development of international cooperation in the water sector, the head of the External Economic Cooperation Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Tajikistan, Manuchehr Jobir, said during the panel "Water Diplomacy: Cooperation Across Borders," Report informs.

Jobir emphasized that Azerbaijan's initiative to organize this event has become a timely platform for regional and international dialogue.

According to him, the topics of water diplomacy, innovation, investment and science are closely related to Tajikistan's priorities.

He recalled that the Dushanbe Water Process, launched in 2018, has become an inclusive platform for aligning global commitments with regional and national realities.

In 2026, Tajikistan will host the first Dushanbe Water Conference, which will become a preparatory stage for the UN conferences on water in the UAE (2026) and in Dushanbe (2028).

The MFA representative emphasized that the Baku Water Week is an example of strengthening partnership, implementing innovative solutions and expanding cooperation in the water sector. The agreements reached will contribute to international efforts, including within the Dushanbe Water Process, he noted.
