Special traffic lanes for WUF13 to take effect in Baku from tomorrow

Starting tomorrow, temporary special traffic lanes organized on a number of streets and avenues in Baku in connection with the 13th session of the World Urban Forum (WUF13) will come into effect, Report informs with reference to the Azerbaijan Land Transport Agency (AYNA) under the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport.

According to a statement, installation of special road signs 5.9 - "lane for public transport vehicles" indicating this has begun in those locations, and from May 15, the temporary lanes marked with these road signs will come into effect.

The temporary special lanes cover Heydar Aliyev Avenue - Airport Highway, Abbasgulu agha Bakikhanov, Yusif Safarov, Mehdi Abbasov, Mikayil Aliyev, and Mikayil Mushfig streets.

According to legislation, these lanes have the status of bus lanes, and during the period they are in effect, fines will be applied to other vehicles entering them.

After the event is over, the signs will be removed and all vehicles will once again be able to enter the temporarily created lanes.
