S&P says TRIPP could boost regional trade and investment

The TRIPP initiative (Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity) could strengthen regional connectivity and support trade and investment in the medium term, Report informs, citing S&P Global Ratings' rating action on Armenia.

The framework agreement on TRIPP establishes the main principles of governance and sovereignty within the project. However, its implementation remains at an early stage, with the project scope, financing issues and exact concession terms still to be finalized.

S&P analysts also believe that the results of Armenia's parliamentary elections could provide fresh momentum for the normalization of relations with Azerbaijan and bring the signing and implementation of a peace agreement closer.

In 2025, Armenia and Azerbaijan initialed the text of a peace agreement, but its signing and implementation still depend on the fulfillment of several conditions. According to the agency's experts, prospects for further progress toward formally concluding the agreement could improve after the election cycle is completed.

S&P Global Ratings also said that further normalization of relations between Baku and Yerevan could stimulate transit and trade in the region.
