Rufat Mahmud: Façade of former national encyclopedia building restored to its original appearance

The façade of the former national encyclopedia building in Icherisheher has been restored in line with its original appearance.

Report informs that Rufat Mahmud, head of the Administration of the State Historical and Architectural Reserve "Icherisheher," said this at an event held as part of WUF13 in Baku.

According to him, the building was in a state of disrepair, and its façade needed renovation. The decision was discussed at the Architects" Club, established with the participation of architects working in Icherisheher.

Mahmud noted that the architects unanimously agreed on the importance of preserving the original appearance of the building, which was constructed in the 1970s.

"This is the architecture of that period and already part of our history. As a result, the building has been restored in line with its original appearance," he said.
