In the first half of this year, Azerbaijan Airlines (AZAL) carried 13,095 passengers to Georgia (capital Tbilisi).
According to the Georgian Civil Aviation Agency, this is about 2% of those who flew to Georgia in the first half of the year and 31.4% less than in the same period last year.
Turkish Airlines (76,216 people), SkyUp Airlines (64,125), and Pegasus (43,951 people) were among the top three foreign companies carrying the most passengers to the neighboring country in January-June.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, flights between Azerbaijan and Georgia have not been operated since March 2020. Buta Airways, a low-budget subsidiary of AZAL, resumed flights on the Baku-Tbilisi-Baku route on March 19 this year.
