Nga Kor Ming: Concrete action plan should be developed following WUF13 in Baku

A concrete plan for implementing the urban development agreements reached at the WUF is needed, Nga Kor Ming, Malaysia's Minister of Housing and Local Government and current President of the UN-Habitat Assembly, told journalists on the sidelines of the 13th session of the World Urban Forum (WUF13), Report informs.

The president of the assembly emphasized the importance of practical results from the summit meetings.

"We have gathered the best minds of humanity and must develop a clear Baku Call to Action. We should not allow the forum to limit itself to mere slogans. A concrete plan for implementing the agreements reached is needed to achieve tangible results. Let's not forget that this year marks the 10th anniversary of the adoption of the New Urban Agenda. The world has come a long way, but much work remains," Nga Kor Ming said.

He recalled that the New Urban Agenda is designed for a 20-year period.

"Today, we are halfway there, and we still have 10 years left. By 2036, we are obligated to fully implement all the goals and objectives set out in this program. The main task now is to achieve absolute consensus among all member states," the minister concluded.
