The newly launched Single Window digital logistics platform (www.dlp.gov.az) is poised to make a significant contribution to improving the balance of transport services in Azerbaijan, according to Vusal Gasimli, the Executive Director of the Center for Analysis of Economic Reforms and Communication, Report informs.
Gasimli shared these details during the official presentation ceremony of the digital platform, noting that in the first quarter of 2026, transport services accounted for 30% of the mutual turnover of services in Azerbaijan's balance of payments.
Out of these transport services, which had a total value of $1.3 billion, 69% was generated by non-residents utilizing Azerbaijan's transport infrastructure.
During this reporting period, the export of transport services in the non-oil and gas sector grew by 24.5% compared to the same period last year, while imports decreased by 10.6%.
This caused the overall surplus in transport services to surge by 54.4%, reaching $0.5 billion, which demonstrates a stable and growing contribution of this sector to the country's balance of services.
According to Gasimli, the platform is set to reinforce Azerbaijan's strategic position along key international routes, specifically the East–West and North–South transport corridors, further strengthening the country's status as a regional transit and logistics hub.
Looking ahead, the Single Window system is expected to establish an essential institutional and digital foundation to help Azerbaijan achieve higher rankings in the World Bank's Logistics Performance Index (LPI), attract more investment to the transport and logistics sector, and expand the use of the Green Corridor fast-track clearance system.
