Inside 'city within a city': Azerbaijani journalists visit Airbus plant in Hamburg

A group of Azerbaijani journalists visited the Airbus manufacturing facility in Hamburg, Germany, where the first A321neo aircraft ordered by Azerbaijan Airlines was assembled.

According to Report's correspondent in Hamburg, Airbus representative Daniel Werdung said during the media tour that around 18,000 people work at the facility. In addition to its airport and production sites, the complex has nearly all essential infrastructure, which is why it is often referred to as a "city within a city."

The Hamburg facility is one of four Airbus final assembly sites worldwide. The others are located in France, the United States, and China.

"Depending on suppliers and production requirements, aircraft are assembled at different facilities. Each of these sites also manufactures and assembles various components for different aircraft models," the Airbus representative noted.
