Azerbaijan won its first medal at the 16th Summer Paralympic Games in Tokyo 2020, Report mentions, referring to the National Paralympic Committee of Azerbaijan.
A national powerlifting team member Parvin Mammadov (49 kg), won a bronze medal in the 156 kg weight category.
"My joy knows no bounds. It was like a dream for me until yesterday. I am delighted that I was able to raise our flag in Tokyo. We suffered a lot with our coach. Thank God all this was not in vain," said Mammadov.
