Kazakhstan supports transparent investigation into Aktau air crash

Kazakhstan is in favor of an objective and transparent investigation into the air crash in Aktau, the Ambassador of Kazakhstan to the Russian Federation Dauren Abayev said, Report informs via RIA Novosti.
"We have nothing to hide. We are for an objective and transparent investigation," Dauren Abayev said.
Abayev noted that the investigation is being conducted in accordance with all standards of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), and Azerbaijan, Russia and Brazil have appointed authorized representatives to participate in the investigation process.
"The published report of the Transport Ministry of Kazakhstan is preliminary. The final report, as stated by the ministry, may be published by December 2025. This deadline meets the requirements, standards and recommended practices of ICAO. By the way, ICAO highly appreciated the level and quality of the preliminary report, noted the clear presentation of facts, detail and completeness of information," the ambassador noted.
An AZAL passenger plane, flying from Baku to Grozny, crashed on December 25 near the city of Aktau in Kazakhstan. Of the 67 people on board, 38 died and 29 survived.
According to preliminary data, the plane crashed as a result of physical and technical external interference in Russian airspace.
Russian President Vladimir Putin previously apologized for the fact that the incident with the AZAL airliner occurred in Russian airspace. At the same time, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev in an interview with AzTV on December 29 announced three conditions put forward in connection with the incident: the Russian side must apologize, admit its guilt, and also hold all those responsible accountable and pay compensation.
