Deputy minister: Online Azerbaijan project changed country's digital landscape

Over the past five years, Azerbaijan has achieved significant digital transformation thanks to the Online Azerbaijan project, Deputy Minister of Digital Development and Transport Samaddin Asadov said at the Hospitality Connectivity Summit in Baku, Report informs.

According to him, this initiative, launched in 2021, pursued the strategic goal of providing high-speed internet to all citizens of the country, with a particular focus on residents of remote and technologically underdeveloped regions.

"I am proud to say that by the end of 2025, this project achieved full coverage throughout the country. Access to fiber-optic broadband has now expanded from households and businesses to nearly 100%. This achievement has fundamentally changed access to the fixed broadband market in Azerbaijan. The impact of this transformation is clearly reflected in productivity data," he noted.
