Regional branches of Blood Bank to be established in liberated Azerbaijani territories

Regional branches of the Republican Blood Bank are planned to be established in the liberated Azerbaijani territories in the near future, Ramik Guliyev, head of a department at the Ministry of Health, said at an event dedicated to World Blood Donor Day, Report informs.

He noted that eight regional branches of the Republican Blood Bank currently operate in the country. Branches are planned to open in two liberated economic regions in the near future.

Guliyev added that decisions were made in July 2024 to develop the sector and improve blood services.

He stated that strengthening the legislative framework and developing voluntary, unpaid blood donation remain priorities.

He emphasized that the goal of World Blood Donor Day is to encourage voluntary blood donation and raise awareness of its importance, noting that a single donation can save the life of one or more people.
