British strain of coronavirus detected in Azerbaijan

The genomic analysis of "Sars Cov-2" samples taken from persons entering Azerbaijan from abroad and citizens residing in the country is carried out in the regular basis, with suspicious variants followed, Report mentions, referring to the National Center for Hematology and Transfusion.
At the Genetic Diagnostics Center of the National Center for Hematology and Transfusion, three samples taken for genomic analysis were found to contain 501Y.V1, B.1.1.7 (British strain).
"The Coronavac vaccine used in Azerbaijan is also effective against new strains," the center said.
