Zangazur Corridor could boost Kyrgyzstan's access to Europe, expert says

The opening of the Zangazur Corridor would expand Kyrgyzstan's opportunities to access European markets through Azerbaijan, Tolobek Beishenbekov, director of the Insap Elim Public Foundation, said in an interview with Report's correspondent in Bishkek.

He noted that representatives of Turkic states are interested in the launch of the Zangazur Corridor.

"As representatives of the Turkic states, we are genuinely interested in the opening of this corridor," Beishenbekov said.

According to him, the China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railway will also play an important role in developing regional transport links.

"This railway will provide Kyrgyzstan with an opportunity to reach the sea through Azerbaijan and then access the markets of European and other countries," he said.

Beishenbekov also highlighted prospects for cooperation between Kyrgyzstan and Azerbaijan in social and inclusive entrepreneurship.

He said that participation in forums in Baku had enabled Kyrgyzstan to learn from the experience of Azerbaijani non-governmental organizations and discuss potential areas for joint work.
