Rapid post-crisis housing recovery is impossible without transparent digital systems and citizen-oriented support mechanisms.
Report informs that Ming Zhang, Global Director for Urban, Disaster Risk Management, Resilience and Land at the World Bank, said this while speaking at an event on "Housing as a Foundation for Crisis Recovery and Reconstruction" held as part of WUF13.
According to him, a key condition for effective recovery is achieving quick results at an early stage, primarily through the repair of damaged housing.
"It is important to ensure quick results so that people can immediately see changes on the ground," Zhang said.
He noted that, as part of the HOPE project in Ukraine, a digital system for submitting housing recovery applications was created, ensuring transparency in processes and faster distribution of assistance.
