Discussions within the framework of the 13th session of the World Urban Forum 13 in Baku will enable an exchange of views and best practices in the field of urban development, France's Ambassador to Azerbaijan Sophie Lagoutte told Report.
"The topic of sustainable housing is something that is very important for France. In fact, this is an issue that concerns all countries. Today"s discussions within WUF13 have proven that. It is truly a topic of decisive importance for the future of humanity, as well as for the future of the planet," she said.
According to her, France expects to contribute to global solutions on this issue at WUF13 - both by sharing its own experience and by learning from best practices of other countries.
"Today's discussions allowed for an initial exchange of views in this direction. I am confident that the entire coming week will be extremely rich in the exchange of best practices," she noted.
Lagoutte also commented on urban development in Baku, highlighting city planning with a clear vision, development of public transport, and urban greening.
"In a very short time, significant changes have been made. This also shows that with political will, situations can be changed very quickly," she added.
WUF13 began its work in Baku on May 17 and will continue until May 22.
