A response letter from the Counselor of the Azerbaijani Embassy in the UK, Gunel Salimova, addressed to the editorial board of the publication in connection with a biased article, has been published in The Guardian newspaper, the Embassy of Azerbaijan in the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland noted, Report informs.
The letter notes that, contrary to the author's opinion, the relevant film contains a chauvinistic position and does not reflect the existing reality.
It is also emphasized that when covering the former conflict, it is necessary to take into account the tragedies experienced by the Azerbaijani people, the humanitarian and social consequences of the occupation, as well as the ongoing mine threat.
It is emphasized that significant progress has been achieved between Azerbaijan and Armenia towards establishing a lasting peace, and concrete results in the sphere of peace and normalization of relations were discussed at the latest meetings between the leaders of the two countries.
In this regard, the restoration of trade relations between the two countries, the delimitation of the border, and the discussion of regional connectivity projects are noted.
It is emphasized that the Azerbaijani side advocates focusing attention not on the disagreements that arose as a result of the former conflict, but on the positive results achieved towards strengthening peace, cooperation, and mutual trust in the region.
