Official: Ilham Aliyev's visit to Italy was productive

"The official visit of President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev to Italy plays a unique role in the interstate relations between official Baku and Rome. We regard this trip as a qualitatively new level of strategic ties between our countries," Assistant to the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Head of Foreign Policy Affairs Department of the Presidential Administration Hikmet Hajiyev told reporters.

The visit was productive, underlined Hajiyev.

"Both countries, as strategic partners, signed several documents for the development of cooperation in all fields. I want to mention the joint declaration on the multidimensional strategic partnership and strengthening relations in policy, economy, culture, and humanitarian cooperation between Azerbaijan and Italy. The document also reflects the position on the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, territorial integrity and sovereignty, and support for Azerbaijan in this regard. I think the document is useful, effective, and successful. The agreements reached during the visit will trigger the development of the traditionally friendly relations between our countries," Hajiyev added.
