Mirziyoyev: History of relations between two peoples laid foundation for development of multilateral cooperation

"The glorious history of relations between the two peoples has laid a solid foundation for the development of multilateral cooperation today," President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, said in a joint press statement with President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, Report informs.

"It is symbolic that this visit is held exactly 25 years after the first official visit of the national leader of Azerbaijan Heydar Aliyev to our country. Today, it was a great honour for me, together with our dear guest, the President, to open a renovated street named after Heydar Aliyev and a monument erected there. This is a sign of our respect for the memory of the true leader of his people and a genius who became a close friend of Uzbekistan," Mirziyoyev noted.
