A lack of trust in Asia could lead to serious problems in ensuring peace and security, Chheng Kimlong, President of the Asian Vision Institute, said during the 13th session of the CICA Think Tank Forum, Report informs.
According to him, full attention should be directed toward Asia:
"The region has faced severe pressure from the COVID-19 pandemic, and its effects have not been fully overcome. In some countries, the consequences are still being felt. At the same time, wars and civil conflicts continue in the region."
Chheng Kimlong also emphasized the need for further efforts amid regional liberalization:
"We must strengthen neighborhood diplomacy and set aside our differences for the sake of future geopolitics."
