Foreign diplomats wrap up visit to Karabakh and East Zangezur

A two-day visit by representatives of the diplomatic corps accredited in Azerbaijan to Karabakh and East Zangazur has concluded.

According to Report's correspondent in Karabakh, on the second day of the visit the diplomats toured the Gandzasar Monastery Complex near Vangli village in Aghdara district and later the Khudavang Monastery Complex in Vang village of Kalbajar district.

Representatives of the diplomatic corps were briefed on the history and architectural features of the monastery complexes, as well as cases of interference, alteration and falsification involving the monuments. The guests then toured the complexes.

Diplomats and military attachés also familiarized themselves with the operations of the Istisu mineral water plant during the visit.

The representatives of the diplomatic corps later attended the Honey Festival in Kalbajar.

This was the 22nd visit by foreign diplomats to Azerbaijan's liberated territories.

The regular visits allow diplomats to see firsthand the results of construction and reconstruction work in Karabakh and East Zangazur, the region's socio-economic development, and efforts to preserve its historical and cultural heritage.
