Azerbaijani Prime Minister: Exchanges within Turkic Council crucial for regional stability and security

The Nakhchivan Agreement, whose 15th anniversary was marked last year, has served as a starting point for the successful development of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS), Azerbaijani Prime Minister Ali Asadov said during a meeting of OTS government leaders in Bishkek, according to Report.

According to Asadov, today"s global challenges require closer cooperation and swift decision-making. In this context, exchanging views, aligning positions, and developing common approaches among Turkic countries is of great importance for ensuring stability, security, and prosperity in the region.

The Prime Minister noted that mutually beneficial cooperation opens new opportunities to expand trade and economic ties, strengthen economic potential, and diversify transport corridors between member states.

He also emphasized that over the 15 years since the Nakhchivan Agreement, Turkic countries have built multilateral cooperation based on shared history, culture, and language.

"Our organization operates in many directions. Its geographic scope, natural resource potential, and human capital make the OTS a structure of strategic significance on the international stage. As President Ilham Aliyev said, the Organization of Turkic States is our main international organization, because it is our family. We fully support the growth of its political and economic influence regionally and globally. Azerbaijan has established strategic partnerships or allied relations bilaterally with all OTS member states," Asadov added.
