Azerbaijani journalists visit Yad Vashem Holocaust memorial in Jerusalem

A group of journalists from Azerbaijan visited the Yad Vashem Holocaust memorial complex in Jerusalem.
Report's correspondent in Israel informs that, during the tour, the delegation viewed materials on the tragedy that claimed the lives of around 6 million Jews.
The journalists were shown historical artifacts, archival materials and household items belonging to Jewish people who were subjected to persecution and deportation to concentration camps and ghettos.
They were also presented with materials on the persecution and mass extermination of Jews by Nazi Germany and its allies and collaborators. The delegation was separately briefed on Jews who were rescued from persecution and found refuge in Azerbaijan during the Soviet era.
The Holocaust was the systematic persecution and mass extermination of European Jews by Nazi Germany and its allies between 1933 and 1945. Around 6 million Jews were killed through mass shootings, gassing, starvation, disease and other forms of violence.
