Azerbaijan's Independence Day celebrated in Germany

On the occasion of May 28 – Independence Day, an official reception was organized in Berlin by the Embassy of Azerbaijan in Germany, the embassy told Report.
Azerbaijan's Ambassador to Germany Nasimi Aghayev emphasized that the establishment of the Azerbaijan Democratic Republic, the first parliamentary and secular republic in the Muslim world, was a historic manifestation of the people's determination to independently decide their own destiny.
The ambassador highlighted that under the leadership of President Ilham Aliyev, Azerbaijan has transformed into a strong, self-confident, and internationally respected state, strengthening its position as a reliable energy partner, initiator of regional cooperation, and an anchor of stability.
In his speech, the ambassador emphasized the growing importance of reliable partnerships against the backdrop of global uncertainties, and, touching upon Azerbaijan-Germany relations, noted that cooperation between the two countries is dynamically developing in the fields of economy, science, culture, and humanitarian affairs.
The envoy also touched upon Azerbaijan's peace agenda and informed the guests about the country's purposeful policy for establishing peace in the region and the positive progress achieved in recent times as a result.
In his speech, Ambassador Christoph Israng, Head of the European Directorate-General of the German Federal Foreign Office, conveyed the congratulations of Foreign Minister Johann Wadephul on the occasion of May 28 – Independence Day.
Stating that Azerbaijan is an important partner for Germany, C. Israng emphasized that relations between the two countries are rooted in deep historical foundations and that economic, cultural, and political cooperation is developing dynamically.
The diplomat drew attention to Azerbaijan's strategic position connecting Europe and Asia and noted the importance of the steps taken towards stability and cooperation in the region.
It was also brought to attention that Germany supports the normalization process of Azerbaijan-Armenia relations and considers it an important opportunity for lasting peace in the South Caucasus.
It was reported that about 400 guests participated in the event held at the Azerbaijan Cultural Center in Berlin, including high-ranking representatives of Germany's Federal Foreign Office and other state institutions, members of the Bundestag, ambassadors of foreign countries, journalists, figures of science, culture, and art, as well as members of the Azerbaijani, Turkish, and other friendly communities living in Germany.
