Azerbaijan's experience in climate, urban planning presented at UN

Gulshan Rzayeva, Deputy Head of the Office of Azerbaijan's State Committee on Urban Planning and Architecture, spoke at a UN General Assembly panel discussion on urban resilience to climate change, natural disasters, and environmental risks, Report informs referring to the State Committee's post on X.

In her speech, Gulshan Rzayeva noted that Azerbaijan's hosting of COP29 and WUF13 was a confirmation of the country's consistent policy of strengthening the link between the climate and urban development agendas.

She also emphasized that one of the key outcomes of the COP29 conference was the creation of the Baku Continuity Coalition, an initiative of Azerbaijan, Brazil, Egypt, and the UAE, as well as the launch of the Multisectoral Actions Pathways to Resilient and Healthy Cities (MAP) initiative.

According to Rzayeva, Azerbaijan continues to share its experience in coordinating climate and urban development with international partners and to develop cooperation in this area.
