Azerbaijan repatriates 16 citizens from Syria

A total of 16 Azerbaijani citizens, including seven women and nine children, were repatriated from Syria on July 18-19, Report informs, citing the Foreign Affairs Ministry of Azerbaijan.
First, the location, identity and Azerbaijani citizenship of the repatriates were determined.
Members of the working group made up of state agencies responsible for repatriating Azerbaijani citizens facing crisis situations abroad were sent to Syria, and the repatriates underwent initial medical and psychological examinations.
The citizens were then provided with certificates of return to Azerbaijan and air tickets through coordination by Azerbaijan's embassies in Syria and Türkiye, as well as its Consulate General in Istanbul, and were brought back to the country.
Relevant measures are planned for the social rehabilitation and reintegration of the repatriates into society.
The ministry said the Azerbaijani government would continue taking necessary measures to repatriate Azerbaijani citizens who became victims of armed conflicts in foreign countries.
