Azerbaijan's statement on crimes against humanity read out at UN

Azerbaijan's statement has been presented during the session on "Crimes against Humanity" of the Sixth Committee of the 80th session of the UN General Assembly, Report informs.
The document was read out by Tale Aliyev, first secretary of Azerbaijan's Permanent Mission to the UN.
The diplomat noted that Azerbaijan's Criminal Code includes robust provisions addressing crimes against humanity and war crimes, demonstrating the country's commitment to fulfilling its obligations under customary and conventional international law.
"Azerbaijan attaches paramount importance to the fight against impunity for all atrocity crimes and possesses a profound and painful understanding of the necessity for robust and effective international legal mechanisms to ensure justice and prevent recurrence," the first secretary emphasized.
