Atletico Madrid sign Morten Hjulmand from Sporting

Atletico Madrid have completed the signing of Danish midfielder Morten Hjulmand from Sporting CP on a contract running until June 2031.

The Spanish club announced the transfer on Saturday, with reports indicating the deal is worth €40 million.

Hjulmand, 27, joined Sporting in 2023 and became a key figure in the Portuguese side's midfield. During his time in Lisbon, he made 141 appearances, scoring 10 goals and providing 12 assists.

The Denmark international now moves to La Liga as Atletico strengthen their squad ahead of the new season.
