Samad Bashirli: Mutual investments between Azerbaijan, OTS countries reach $40B since 1995

Azerbaijan's trade turnover with the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) member countries exceeded $7 billion in 2025.

According to a Report correspondent in Azerbaijan's Shusha, Azerbaijani Deputy Minister of Economy Samad Bashirli made the remark at the 3rd Meeting of the Heads of OTS Competition Authorities and the Competition Forum.

He noted that the growth in trade turnover between the OTS members, the expansion of mutual investments, the strengthening of transport and logistics ties, and the development of regional economic cooperation in recent years are clear evidence of the results achieved.

"Our country is consistently taking steps to expand economic cooperation and develop mutual trade within the OTS. A Preferential Trade Agreement is in effect between Azerbaijan and Türkiye. There are also free trade agreements with other OTS member countries," the deputy minister noted.

Bashirli also noted that since 1995, the total volume of mutual investments between Azerbaijan and the OTS countries has approached $40 billion.

According to him, the Turkic Investment Fund, with a total capital of $600 million, was established to further stimulate investment cooperation. Furthermore, Azerbaijan, together with Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, and Kazakhstan, has established bilateral investment funds, which are already operating successfully.
