Date announced for BSTDB annual meeting in Baku - EXCLUSIVE

The 28th Annual Meeting of the Board of Governors of the Black Sea Trade and Development Bank (BSTDB) will be held in Baku from June 29 to July 1.

An informed source told Report that the main sessions of the meeting are scheduled for June 29-30, while a business forum will take place on July 1.

Discussions are expected to focus on issues particularly relevant to Azerbaijan, including economic diversification and regional connectivity.

"Our main goal is not only to discuss the most pressing challenges facing the region, but also to ensure that these meetings lead to concrete outcomes and potential projects. We attach great importance to this process and are working intensively with our partners to ensure that the meetings in Baku are meaningful and productive," BSTDB President Serhat Köksal said earlier in an interview with Report.

As of April 2026, BSTDB had increased the volume of credit resources provided to Azerbaijan by 93.579 million euros, or 15.4%, bringing the total to 701.614 million euros. The funds were allocated for the financing of 42 projects across the country.

By that date, the bank had approved 442.173 million euros for the implementation of 44 projects in Azerbaijan, while agreements signed between the parties covered 439.58 million euros. Over the past year, these indicators increased by 11.379 million euros, or 2.6%, and 71.043 million euros, or 19.3%, respectively.

Financial institutions account for the largest share of the bank"s loan portfolio in Azerbaijan at 49.37%. They are followed by the energy sector with 35.88%, real estate with 7.04%, the consumer sector with 3.99%, and consumer goods with 3.72%.

Azerbaijan"s share in the authorized capital of BSTDB stands at 5%.
