Azerbaijani population's demand for euro cash increased

Baku. 19 August. REPORT.AZ/ In June 2016, as a result of foreign currency exchange operations in Azerbaijan volume of net cash euro sold to population amounted to 18 721,4 thousand euros.
Report informs citing the Central Bank of Azerbaijan Republic (CBAR), demand for the euro in June increased by 11, 6201 thousand euros, or 1.6 times compared to May.
Overall, Azerbaijani population made net purchases of euro in the amount of 99 558,7 thousand euros from commercial banks.
In June last year, banks net sales of EUR to the population amounted to 77 244,3 thousand euros.
Analytical group of Report notes that, growth in demand for the euro in June is due to the increase in number of people going on holiday to European countries.
