Azerbaijan's domestic debt reaches almost AZN 16 billion

As of July 1, Azerbaijan's domestic public debt amounted to 15.982 billion manats (just over $9.4 billion), Report informs, citing Azerbaijan's Finance Ministry.
Of this, more than 7.234 billion manats (just over $4.255 billion) were in circulating government securities, while over 8.747 billion manats (just over $5.145 billion) consisted of state-guaranteed obligations undertaken by the government.
Some 51.6% of government securities had maturities of up to five years, while 48.4% had maturities of five years or longer.
As of the reporting date, the Average Maturity Period (AMP) of circulating government bonds stood at 3.86 years. The placement of long-term government bonds in the domestic financial market over the past six months contributed to the increase in the AMP.
