STAR refinery cuts aviation fuel output by 33.6% in June

STAR Oil Refinery, an asset of Azerbaijan's State Oil Company (SOCAR) in Türkiye, produced approximately 118,695 tons of aviation fuel (kerosene) in June this year.

According to Report, the figures were released by Türkiye's Energy Market Regulatory Authority (EPDK).

The refinery's aviation fuel production decreased by 60,026 tons, or 33.6%, compared with June 2025.

Overall, Turkish oil refineries produced more than 583,385 tons of aviation fuel in June, down by 42,175 tons, or 6.7%, year-on-year.

STAR refinery was inaugurated on October 19, 2018, while construction began on October 5, 2011. The refinery reached full operational capacity in September 2019.

The facility has an annual crude oil processing capacity of 13 million tons and can process Urals, Azeri Light and Kirkuk crude oil.

Its main products include diesel fuel, with an annual capacity of 4.8 million tons, aviation fuel, naphtha with a capacity of 1.6 million tons, liquefied petroleum gas, mixed xylene and petroleum coke.

STAR was the first facility in Türkiye to receive a Strategic Investment Incentive Certificate.
