STAR refinery becomes leader in Türkiye's LPG output

In June 2026, the STAR refinery, an asset of the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan Republic (SOCAR) in Türkiye, produced nearly 155,789 tons of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG).
According to Report, citing Türkiye's Energy Market Regulatory Authority (EMRA), this was the highest LPG output among Turkish refineries.
Compared to June 2025, STAR's LPG production rose 5.5 times, or 127,260 tons.
By refinery, TÜPRAŞ Izmir produced about 30,023 tons, while TÜPRAŞ Kırıkkale recorded more than 2,997 tons, and TÜPRAŞ Batman accounted for just over 1,748 tons of LPG output.
The STAR Refinery, inaugurated on October 19, 2018 (foundation laid October 5, 2011), has operated at full capacity since September 2019. With an annual crude processing capacity of 13 million tons, it refines Urals, Azeri Light, and Kirkuk grades. Its main products include diesel (4.8 million tons), jet fuel, naphtha (1.6 million tons), LPG, mixed xylene, and petroleum coke.
STAR also holds Türkiye's first Strategic Investment Incentive Certificate.
