Parviz Shahbazov: Construction of Jabrayil-Aghband power transmission line nearing completion

The connection of Nakhchivan to Azerbaijan's unified power grid through the creation of the Zangazur Energy Corridor will expand the prospects for cooperation in the electric power industry among the region's countries, Energy Minister Parviz Shahbazov said in Baku at the 5th Azerbaijani-Turkish Energy Forum, Report informs.

According to him, the necessary energy infrastructure has been established in Jabrayil:

"The construction of the 330-kilovolt Jabrayil-Aghband high-voltage power transmission line with a capacity of 1,000 MW is nearing completion. Furthermore, the creation of an electrical connection with Nakhchivan and Türkiye via the Zangazur corridor is envisaged."

The minister added that the connection of the power transmission lines of Azerbaijan and Türkiye through Nakhchivan is of special strategic importance, and at the initial stage, the export of 1 GW of electricity from Nakhchivan to Türkiye is planned.
