Gas exports from Shah Deniz drop 13.3% despite production growth

The Azeri-Chirag-Gunashli (ACG) produced 2.2 billion cubic meters of gas in the first two months of 2024, Report informs, citing the operational data of the Ministry of Energy.

This is a decrease of 0.4 billion cubic meters, or 15.4 percent, compared to the indicator for 2023.

Meanwhile, the Shah Deniz field produced 4.6 billion cubic meters of gas in January-February 2024, representing a growth of 0.4 billion cubic meters, or 9.53 percent, from the same period in 2023.

Over the course of two months, 3.4 billion cubic meters of gas produced from the Shah Deniz field were exported, which is 0.4 billion cubic meters, or 13.3 percent, less than in January–February of 2023.

In total, 218.5 billion cubic meters of gas were produced from Azeri-Chirag-Gunashli and more than 213.6 billion cubic meters of gas from Shah Deniz since the commissioning of Azeri-Chirag-Gunashli and Shah Deniz until March 1, 2024.

During this period, 151.5 billion cubic meters of Sah Deniz gas were exported.
