Bulgaria shifts from gas cooperation with Azerbaijan to electricity projects — EXCLUSIVE

Bulgaria hopes to expand its energy cooperation with Azerbaijan, Bulgaria's Deputy Minister of Energy Kiril Temelkov said on the sidelines of the 31st Baku Energy Forum.

He stressed that Bulgaria was among the first EU countries to significantly diversify gas supplies with the assistance of Azerbaijan.

"Our cooperation with Azerbaijan has been ongoing for many years, and we are now at a stage of expanding bilateral interaction. So far, we have worked very actively in the field of gas supplies. We are continuing in this area, but at the same time we are shifting attention to the electricity sector, implementing projects in the field of power energy. Therefore, we will be happy to continue the partnership and are confident of achieving very positive results," he said.
