The agreement signed today during Baku Energy Week on the production of gas from the Absheron field has further advanced the cooperation established between Türkiye and Azerbaijan through projects such as Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan, TANAP and Baku-Tbilisi-Erzurum.
Report informs that Turkish Energy and Natural Resources Minister Alparslan Bayraktar wrote this on X.
"On the sidelines of Baku Energy Week, we also held bilateral meetings with our colleagues and representatives of international companies, and shared our country's vision during the sessions held," Bayraktar added.
According to him, Türkiye's main priority as a reliable partner is to make lasting contributions to the energy supply security of both the country and the region.
"In this direction, we will continue with determination to strengthen our connections with our neighbors in the fields of natural gas and electricity in order to increase our regional resilience," he said.
SOCAR, TotalEnergies, XRG and BOTAŞ signed an agreement on the long-term sale to the Turkish market of part of the natural gas to be produced from the full-scale development of the Absheron gas-condensate field - 50% of production, or 30 billion cubic meters - over a period of 15 years.
